Poems in English

 For you:

One more evening I with steps aimless

Wandered along with a heart restless!

Every tree that I faced among the woods

Pined for my beloved with eager words!

Every gay cloud that passed overhead,

Your absence rendered them so sad,

Drifted away with its rich hue grayed!

Every little bird that crooned and preened

Seeing again this loner, wistfully mocked!

Without you did I look so wicked?

The moonlight in the paths so spread

   With delight bridging heaven and earth,

Time and again your name uttered!

Behind the bushes the Koil hid,

When it cooed, in the song you hide!

Aren't you there with me, I wondered!

------+------+

Unholy is this band:

How bad can it get in this land !

Ploughed it Janaka only to find

The child Seetha in a box of wood

Smiled the child, to the King waved

Such indeed is this holy land!

When venomous creatures had

Venom on their tongue and mind

How can they be pure in hand

Animals which two legs had

And passion to kill so bad

Smashed things holy of this land.

Taught the people morals bad

Thoughts holy which people had

Brought to decay see how sad

Men so bad, women too had

None too holy thoughts, so sad!

Man wants woman on demand

Then kills her in a small second,

  Gone waste! Years of love,

Years of life, years of strife!

Perverts call it retrograde

Only to paint old things bad,

And call all that was holy

Rude, vile and silly.

Put a cloak of respectability,

Just to cover up cruelty.

Come Indians, find your mooring,

Come out of this

 sin with a bang

From darkness into light shining.

SOLILOQUY of an INDIAN GEEK:

You, who sowed the seeds of dreams,

Now taste the fruits of our schemes;

"Reach the heights," your words rang true,

In these skies, we found our view.

You yearned for us to roam abroad,

Yet in our grasp, the world we've awed;

You called the globe a village small,

We've walked its paths, both one and all.

Don't mourn the dreams of days of yore,

For new dreams, we now explore;

You cast blame upon our quest,

Yet castles rise at our behest.

The wheel of time, it won't rewind,

Let's move ahead, with hearts aligned;

What's past is past, no need to dwell,

Together, we'll script a future swell.

@(Just for fun)

Ignorance:

When you dwell in a shell,

And believe it's quite swell,

Then life's truly a hell

Of a comical spell!
